About Us

Danielle's Dahlias was started by Marie and Danielle Hergert in 1992. Our farm is located in Nampa, Idaho, in the heart of the Treasure Valley just west of Boise.

Our Dahlia tubers were originally grown by Vera Bassett at Bassett Dahlia Gardens in Nampa, approximately two miles south of Danielle's Dahlias. Vera started raising dahlias in 1950 in a one-acre garden. Her flower exhibits won her many awards at local fairs and shows, which inspired people to lovingly refer to her as "The Flower Lady."

When Vera retired in 1992, Danielle's Dahlias purchased one-third of her tuber stock.

Danielle's Dahlias has won awards locally at the Canyon County Fair and the Western Idaho State Fair. We also participate in farm markets, and sometimes people just drive by and stop to admire--and take home--our dahlias.
